My first race - a 10K, and I was not last!! Seriously though if my dearest friend Jules (still just about talking to her!!) had told me how steep the hills were I don't think i would have entered... just like I handled childbirth, knew they were coming into the world, didn't really want to know how - too scared, so didn't look up anything, go to any classes, or read any small print!! It happened, it was amazing and look at the end result - perfect!
Anyway, back to the running - her friends were lovely, the journey was fun, the atmosphere was great and the weather was good, no settled snow just a bit slushy, weather cleared up and even a little sun - and not a lion in sight!!
Me pre race - not so gorgeous! And before you ask, do you really expect me to allow anyone to take a photo straight after the run??
My FIRST medal - woo hoo!!
So did i enjoy it? Answer - yes now its over. No - not at the time. Would I do it again? No not Longleat - too hilly, however it was a good training run. HA can't believe a said that a 10k a training run, now 3 months ago I couldn't have run to the bus (not that I go on buses). How I am going to up the mileage I know not how, but I know Kim will keep me on the straight and narrow...
Met two great girls running for a Leukaemia charity from Adams Estate agents in Bournemouth (Claire Louise) and her friend who works at Bournemouth hospital - Becky - their first run as well...
Mileage is going up this week - wish me luck.. xx
